Do you identify people by their dogs?
I know my neighbor’s dogs better than I know my neighbors in some cases. Often when I am outside I will see a dog, immediately know the dog and his name, then look to the person. That is how I identify them. “That’s Noah’s Mom”. I may not ever notice the person, but I know the dog, so I talk to the person too because I then recognize them. I know most of the dog’s names, but not the people.
It’s the same at the vet’s office. I know who Eric the blue Kerry is. I can identify him when he walks in the door. But I wouldn’t recognize his Dad if we crossed on the street without Eric being present. I identify Eric’s dad through Eric the Blue Kerry who wears Blue Burberry sweaters.
Do you identify people by their dogs at times?
I do the same thing but with shoes.
Ever since I was a kid, I used to cheat in Heads Down Thumbs Up by looking at the persons shoes from the corners of my eyes (I know, I was a rebel ;P) and I guess I just got used to it.
And since I usually just walk around aimlessly staring at the ground, the first thing I see is the shoes, and, if I’ve seen them before, I can usually tell who it is straight away. ;P
