Does anyone know how to make printing images in beautiful black and white?
I'm doing a collage on the front of my notebook, I wanted namely, any person who works with computers, I have only black ink, so how I can make it look intentional and beautiful?

White Death on the podium
Our eyes are attracted to shiny things. You know that when you take a walk in the park, the sunshine of a bundle of gum lying on the grass is based attention. Or you look at the sky on a clear night, illuminated by the moon – that big white orb is what catches your eye. Even the stars play second banana to the brilliance of the moon. Our eyes are attracted to light.
And yet in a position of submission, many of us put black text on white screens. I think for a moment about what you are doing to the audience. It has been described as trying to read letters on a lighted bulb. After a while, it makes the public look back at us like "deer caught in headlights." For a presenter, this is known as "death white. "
Since the object of attention to the lyrics (not the bottom) seems to make sense for those white objects. In other words, the graphics support and the text should be placed on a dark background.
My experience in television supports this hypothesis. But I wanted more concrete support. I searched the Internet for more information and studies on the subject. This is what I found:
Our eyes are naturally attracted to light.
Light waves enter in the eye through the pupil and strike the back of the eye called the retina. The retina is lined with a series of light-sensitive cells called rods and cones. When struck by light, a chemical reaction occurs which sends electrical impulses to the brain. The brighter the light (eg white), the most intense electrical impulses. The brain interprets the intensity and in this case, tells us that light is "white." No light, no stimulus.
Thus, using black text on a white screen, you are actually asking your audience to read what they do not see! Our brains have to calculate the dimensions of the area that reflects light and convert it into meaningful information. That is the extra work the brain has to do to understand the text in black.
Meanwhile, a highly reflective screen white light beam is continuously stimulating the rods and cones in the eye. Over time, we are starting to hurt the eyes of his audience and lower its concentration. You do not want to be more difficult than necessary to absorb your message!
The white light "bleeds."
Black letters on a background white are affected by adjacent projecting a white light. The letters appear to be thinner. This is because the bright, white light "bleeds" on them. There are actually thinner. However, they seem to be thinner. That makes them more difficult to decipher, or read.
The other effect of a blank screen on small, black text is that it reduces the desired contrast. The black letters are somewhat dominated by light reflected and indeed deeper or medium gray. The smallest of the letters, more pronounced the effect.
On the other hand, when reverse out type (which is white on a dark background), the opposite happens and appears more white guy bold. Moreover, the white guy looks optically closer to us (above the black background). This is the effect you want to create as a presenter. It makes it easy to see the white text.
Projected (reflective) light is different from the ambient light.
You might say to me, "But we've been reading black text on white pages for centuries. "That's true. But print and paper to create a different atmosphere light projected onto a screen, for two reasons fundamental
First, the ink is absorbed by the paper. If the printing is well done, you end up with thinner letters which in some cases can be completely "abandon". To compensate, the good designers pick a stronger typeface. And with a solid application of ink, the letters slightly bleed into the white area, making them stronger and easier to read.
If you try to reverse the ink (print in white letters on black), the opposite occurs. What you're really doing is printing black everywhere but where are the letters. The letters become more due to hemorrhage (the absorption of ink by the paper), plus you will use more ink, making the printing process much more expensive.
Second Instead, the printed pages are read in the light environment – rather than projected or reflected light. This is not a high contrast situation (like a computer screen or image projected on stage). So the contrast is at an acceptable level. The target page is not reflected back into our eyes.
computer screens traditional project light in a similar manner to projectors used under boardroom. All white light is transmitted to the viewer. It creates a situation high contrast.
Do not let the screen to master!
Here's another reason not to use white backgrounds. Think of a screen on the stage of a theater. . .
In theater, great efforts are made to light the actors properly to be the focal point of any dialogue or action. The same happens on television.
If you are a presenter and properly lit projecting white light into a reflective screen anywhere on the stage will attract the attention of the hearing. . . away from you. You become "support" to the screen and we all know you do not want that to happen! However, a black screen with white letters forgotten the background until you need it. It supports.
Use the power of light to reinforce key points.
Let's look at "build." I define builds are short phrases or words that are added to a screen based on a signal. The power generation is that, if done properly, visually reinforcing key phrases given orally, in sync. They can help make a memorable specific idea, which distinguish it from other texts on screen.
Now, we know that our eye is drawn by light. So when building text on a screen, it makes more sense to "build" white text on a dark background. It will be easier to attract public attention.
On television, the eye is drawn to the changes on the screen – or the introduction of a lighter color, movement, or both. This is similar to adding white text to a static screen. We see the move as the area in question "lights" with the new text. Add black text, however, is simply the movement and, indeed, can not be that noticeable.
Consider the following facts:
Studies have shown that of an LCD panel or CRT (typical TV screen type), users can read faster when presented with clear text on dark background.
A teacher who teaches large crowds in auditoriums unanimously said that the students prefer to chalk on a blackboard on the pen on a whiteboard.
Approximately 8% of males and 0.5% of women of color have a deficit of some kind. Perhaps that is why men have been accused of not filling women on your clothes as much as should perhaps! But seriously, is a reason why contrast is so important.
Many with dyslexia find white text on a background blue to be the easiest to read. In fact, Microsoft Word has an option in preferences to turn any page in white text on a blue background.
Do not Take your audience for granted!
The only reason I can think of to use black text on white is that it is "easy" to create. However, presenters have to think twice about the effect this phenomenon has on the public.
It may be more time to develop a dark light on the display. But the result will be worth the effort: a higher level of retention, greater public attention and an increase in perceived professionalism. Overwhelming logic points to "the light in darkness." The best combinations are white or yellow on blue, black or dark gray.
We do not difficult in our Hearing "deer." Do not force them to look into the headlights of your projector. Light in the Darkness is the preferred configuration for projected images. Otherwise, there the risk of completely losing your audience's attention.
And setting yourself up for the white death in the podium.
